The Analysis Pipeline

When you click the STG icon on an Amazon product page, the extension collects publicly visible data from the page and sends it to our backend API for analysis. Here is what happens at each step.

Data Collection

The extension reads publicly available information from the Amazon product page you are viewing — including product details, seller information, review metadata, and pricing data. No personal data is collected. The extension does not access your Amazon account, purchase history, or browsing activity.

Review Analysis

STG analyzes the review data for patterns that may indicate manipulation: rating distribution (is the spread natural or skewed?), review velocity (did reviews arrive gradually or in bursts?), verified purchase ratio, and reviewer behavior patterns.

Seller Trust Analysis

STG examines the seller information on the product page: is the seller Amazon, the original brand, or a third-party reseller? How long has the seller been active? Does the seller have a track record of reliable fulfillment?

Price History Analysis

STG checks the product's price history to show you whether the current price is actually a good deal. Has the price been lower in the past? Is the current "discount" based on an inflated reference price? Price history helps you avoid fake sales.

AI Review Summary

STG's AI reads through the available reviews and produces a summary of key findings — including potential fraud risks, anomalies, and patterns worth attention. This gives you the gist of what hundreds of reviews say without reading them all.

Trust Score Calculation

All the signals — review analysis, seller trust, price history, and AI findings — are combined into a Trust Score from 0 to 100. A higher score means lower assessed risk. The score is not a guarantee of product quality or safety — it is a summary of risk signals.

What Each Signal Means

Review Patterns

Rating distribution, review velocity, verified purchase ratio, and reviewer behavior are analyzed for signs of manipulation.

Seller Trust

Seller identity, age, track record, and whether they are the brand owner or a reseller contribute to the overall risk assessment.

Price History

Historical price data shows whether the current price is genuinely discounted or based on an inflated reference price.

AI Summary

The AI reads available reviews and produces a plain-language summary of key findings, fraud risks, and anomalies.

Trust Score

A score from 0 to 100 summarizing all risk signals. Higher means lower assessed risk. Not a guarantee — a decision-support tool.

Privacy

No personal data collection, no browsing tracking, no sharing with third parties. Product analysis data is processed to provide Trust Scores and AI summaries.
